Excellent toy for inquisitive minds By TR (Enid, OK USA)
I bought this for my 7 year old son and he played with it every single day for several weeks. He has learned a lot about what the different components do, how to avoid short circuits, and has created his own circuits.
He has also broken several pieces: a transistor, a capacitor, an IC chip, and a battery case. Some of these were physically broken by twisting or being dropped. The transistor and the IC chip I suspect were fried by hooking up too much voltage or not using a resistor when needed. The manuals have instructions for troubleshooting to determine if components are working. Fortunately, you can buy replacement components directly from snap circuits for a few dollars each.
Fantastic By Maxnmilly
Can not say enough how GREAT this toy is, fun, educational and the longevity of play being able to use in many different ways FANTASTIC.
Hours of Fun and Educational Tool By Zensible
The 7 year old who got this last month loves it. It is a great toy for any kid who loves to tinker. A great toy to bond with your kid since adults will enjoy it too! Great buy!!
My 4-yr-old LOVES it By Helena Bianchi (Vancouver, B.C., Canada)
What a wonderful toy!! This toy is suitable for much younger than 8-yr-old children--My 4-yr-old son has a blast making the projects by himself and creating projects of his own. When we first got this toy, my husband did some projects with him, once my son got the hang of it he just took off and spends HOURS playing with it. WORTH EVERY PENNY. My 2-year-old is already snapping things together as well, since he watches his 4-yr-old brother doing it all the time. A winner of a toy!
Mom of 5 year old autistic boy By Mom of 5 yr. old boy
AWESOME product!!! The recommended age is 8+, but my 5 yr. old son (moderately autistic) is having a BLAST with it, with adult support of course. I actually like these better than Little Bits which is ridiculously expensive and comes with so few pieces that you hardly have any variety unless you spend like $300 or something on additional pieces.
Quality and lots of fun By Camper Sam (L.A. CA)
I love the fact the design is well thought out and easy to follow and durable, there are many different projects to follow with easy to follow instructions.
great By Ben (Western USA)
This is a fantastic kit. I love the design of the product overall. It makes creating circuits very easy to demonstrate or do.
Amazing, and hours worth of fun By Catherine Depaolo
My daughter received this set for her 6th birthday. Once she got the hang of following the patterns, she was creating models on her own. She absolutely loves this set and will play with it for much longer than she will play with most things, legos included. The best part of these models is they work after they are finished. The favorite in our house is the fan. If you get it revved up, and then let go of the power button, the fan will launch into the air! It's VERY neat.
LOVE IT By Raquel Lee (Humboldt County, CA USA)
I got this as a gift for a 5 1/2 year old boy because people who bought Legos an K'nex also bought it. For a little while he assembled with help and direction. Now, 5 months later, he assembles on is own, with occasional "checks" to make sure we don't miss a part or unintentionally short-circuit the project. Only one piece has broken because it was a part of a mistake (short-circuit) on our part. With the one piece out of commission, he is still able to do most of the projects. The toy has been a hit for over 5 months straight, with only occasional breaks to assemble a Lego kit. There's something about putting something together that actually does something once assembled.
Great learning toy By Loveday
We put together many of the projects already. My 8 yr old son loved it and learned alot. One piece was broken but all the others were in great. May purchase the larger set in the future.
fantastic grandson's gift By Judybusse
My grandson is a very bright 9 year old, fascinated with technology. I bought this as a birthday gift, and from the moment the tore off the wrapping paper, he was totally engrossed. The instructions were easy enough for his grandfather to understand and he, of course, had no trouble with them at all. He could hardly wait to finish one project and get on to the next. The product is exceptionally well made and packaged (you can easily relace the pieces in the box in order to put it away when you are finished). Kudos for a great product!
Excellent for kids By Paco DR
My two kids (8 an 10 years old) just loved it. They keep on telling me that it was an excellent gift for Children's Day (in Mexico is on April, 30th), and for what I experienced with them it is also a very good learning material which develops analitycal skills an it also expands their imagination. Also very good for spending some quality time with them.
