The Hunger Games

Book Description
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games," a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed.

Completely Breathtaking By Scott Roach (Dallas, TX United States)
Wow. I was unable to put this book down. I have to say, I have no idea how a story with this much description could have lured me in so quickly. It had me on the edge of my seat. Can't wait to read the second!

Get your HUNGER fix! By Socalbias
One of the best books I have ever read! NO spoiler alerts here. Living in a near distance future, the United States has turned into a semi-post apocolyptic setting with 13 individual states. The rich and wealthy live life free of any problems, while the poor struggle for survival in these 13 states outside of the central capital. Murder, Deceit, love, passion, caring, and other emotions come into play during this amazing reading of a lifetime.

The Hunger Games: Couldn't stop reading By Jacob Anderson
I rate this book six out of five stars. I really don't see how anyone could not like this book. The Hunger Games is the absolute best book that I have ever read. I reccomended it to all of my classmates (and even my parents), and they read all of the books and absolutely LOVED them. It is perfectly paced, brilliantly plotted, and is entertaining on every page. Almost all of the characters are likeable (Haymitch, for example, is not), and the way it is written is so descriptive, so real, that it's almost like you're Katniss Everdeen, and when she feels something, you feel it too. The thrill and suspense in the book keeps readers on the edge of their seats, wondering what's going to happen next. I would reccomend this book to anyone; it is an amazing story about frriendhip, betrayal, trust, and survival. This book is for (almost) anyone.

Love It! By Janice Johnson (Hollywood, FL)
I love this book! To me, it's like a cross between futuristic Gladiator meets Twilight. I can't wait to read the other two books in the series.

Good read By Michelle Solomon (Texas)
Friends told me that I should read this book but I put it off because I don't usually read the 'trendy' books. However, it was available at the Kindle Lending Library so I checked it out. The book was so well written and had such a great story line that I finished the book in one evening. Now to finish the others.

Wow, loved this book By Original Larkin (Arizona)
Although recommended to me more than a year ago I put off reading this series because it was in the teen genre, and I typically can't stand those books. I borrowed the kindle edition from the kindle owners lending library and was pleasantly surprised. I seriously could not put this book down and finished it in a matter of days. The story line of this book was unique to anything I've read before and I found it very engaging.

Wonderful read By Zeek (AZ)
I couldn't put this book down. I rented it on my kindle, and only a few pages in I was already completely caught up in it. I ended up finishing it in one day, and now I can't wait to start the next book. As a warning, before you start the book you might want to make sure you have time to read the whole book, because you won't want to stop once you have started. Sometimes books that have a great start get boring towards the end, but I assure you this book didn't. It is had multiple twists and turns that kept me enthralled. Also, the ending was never expected, I couldn't wait to get to the last pages, so I could find out what happened. It was a thrilling read, and I would definitely recommend to anyone!

WOW words cant describe By Jessalynn
My sister in law for how many months has been telling me to read this book. I kept saying "yeah I will get to it eventually." Finally about 3 days ago I purchased the book and started reading it right away. OMG! I wish I would have started it earlier. The first chapter was kind of slow, but after you got to the second chapter, that is where I really got hook. I am currently on chapter 23 and will be finishing it tonight. I can honestly say that this is an awesome book. I was iffy on it considering it is meant for a younger generation... of course that is where I am at now lol but this was a great read so far. I would definitally reccomend this to friends. I acutally started telling people about it :) Take a chance even if you borrow it from someone...i think it is worth the read and money 100%
