Customer Reviews
Delicious, organic, and fair trade too By K. C. King (Los Angeles, CA USA)
I am a chocoholic who loves very dark chocolate. I have always been eager to sample new brands whenever I find one that has a rating of 75% or higher. Endangered Species Black Panther is the best I have ever tasted. Some dark chocolate over 80% is bitter or dry, but not this one. Even those in my family who normally don't like the very darkest chocolate like the smooth creamy taste of this one. I am now totally spoiled and feel deprived if I have to eat any other kind of chocolate.

In addition, a couple of years ago I decided I would no longer buy chocolate that was not "fair trade", that is chocolate that was made from beans that were harvested without exploiting children and other low-paid workers. What a delight to find that this particular fair trade product also happens to be the most delicious as well.

Everyone Wins With This Product By D. Fafarman (CA USA)
Premium chocolates (such as Black Panther) have much character and subtlety in their flavor, with aromas that are fruity and spicy. Besides being a fine taste, you can feel good about eating this because it is rich in healthful antioxidants, is grown so as to protect the environment, and is "fair-traded" to give the farmers a break. In addition, 10% of net profits go to help endangered species or indigenous peoples.

This chocolate is barely sweet, but more sweetness would detract from the intense flavor, as well as raise the glycemic index that we're better off without. It's even easier on your teeth.

The BEST dark chocolateBy Lori Green (Columbus IN USA)
I haven't found the dark chocolate yet that is too dark for me, except perhaps unsweetened! This chocolate is really dark(88% cocoa) but really smooth and yummy! It is my favorite so far!

Excellent dark chocolate bar By D. Hurst (Michigan)
All Endangered Species chocolate is excellent and there are may varieties to suit your tastes. This is a non-bitter VERY dark chocolate. You can eat just a few bits (I usually eat 3 sections at a time) to satisfy your chocolate craving! Very smooth and delicious! You can't go wrong with this chocolate, but I did find that sometimes I get bars that aren't as fresh as I'd like.

Extremely Dark Chocolate is No Lie By B. A.
I've never had something past 75% cacao, so I wanted to up the ante a bit and try something new. This is definitely not an everyday type chocolate for me--a bit too sharp. Still, for a once in a while taste, it's marvelous. It's creamy and complex and has very subtle nuances. When I say 'sharp', I do not mean bitter! It is just a more powerful punch of cacao if you're not used to it. It smells divine and was in perfect condition when bought. I'll definitely be buying this brand again (and perhaps in some of their other flavors too!)

Endangered Species Chocolate is delicious By Johnny
I bought this chocolate because I was looking for some way to enjoy the health benefits of chocolate since I can't tolerate meds for cholesterol. I really wasn't concerned with taste when I ordered it. Now I find that I really like the taste of this chocolate and other chocolates seem too sweet for me. I've already gone through one box and I'm on to my second.

You get the best of everything in this brand: fair-market, organic, healthy and great-tasting. Plus some of the proceeds go to help endangered species. But really you can justify it on the taste alone. It's really delicious! The thing I love best is that it will last in your mouth for several minutes if you can resist biting into it. There's not much more I can say about Endangered Species Chocolate except that writing this recommendation is making my mouth water...

Excellent chocolate By SFerguson
Endangered Species makes awesome chocolate. The Extreme Dark (88%) is one of my favorites. Occasionally, I will venture between the 88% and the 72% but nothing curbs my appetite for REAL dark chocolate like the 88%. You won't be disappointed in this brand or flavor.

Dark Chocolate By star
Hmmm it is very bitter (according to everybody that tasted it). however i feel it is an acquired taste and with time i loved the rich feeling of almost pure cocoa in my mouth...
Very good.. and rich in anti oxidants huh....

For super-dark chocolate lovers By Michael C. Desesa (White Hall, MD USA)
If you are looking for a sweet treat - this is not what you want. If you love extra dark chocolate like my wife and I do, this is great stuff. Not sweet at all. It's also nice if you believe all the ethical trade and habitat support claims.

Great tasting high quality dark chocolate By John G. Svinos (Brea, CA United States)
This is the dark chocolate you can eat every day guild free since it is very good for you. As more and more scientific evidence shows that dark chocolate is good for you I have been trying to find a bar that is very high in the percent coco bean but also tastes good. I had first bough a 95% bar that did not taste good. This bar has the right combination of taste and % for me and I suspect for others as well.
