This is the cheapest price per ounce you're going to find on enzymatic dog toothpaste. I have purchased this twice. The first order came in a metal tube, similar to what oil paints for art come in. The second came in a plastic tube like most human toothpaste. I have to say I prefer the plastic tube, but it doesn't seem like you get a choice. Sometimes it will be metal, other times plastic. The product inside is the same for both, and works well. My dog enjoys the taste as well. Would definitely recommend.

To me, it smells like nothing, but to my dog, it's delicious! Brushing my dog's teeth is no easy task, but if the toothpaste is appealing, then it makes things easier! I put a pea size on a finger brush and do my best to clean the teeth as fast as possible (my dog's least favorite pastime). Not sure how well I'm doing as the toothpaste is licked up before I can brush every tooth but I try!

Our five year old Havanese had plaque that was causing bad breath. We are now on day 7 of the 30 day treatment and I am amazed at the difference it has made in such a short time! His breath now smells like sweet puppy breath! He seems to like the flavor and doesn't protest too much during the brushing. I am grateful for the other reviews - my main reason for purchasing this particular brand. How nice to purchase a product that does what it claims! Petrodex rocks! Thanks, Amazon.

After reading the rave reviews for this product, I decided to give toothpaste a try before taking my recently rescued pit bull to the vet for a $300 professional cleaning. Petrodex Enzymatic toothpaste has completely removed his rancid breath. I expect the yellowing will go away with regular brushings as well. I followed the instructions; I let Gunner sniff the toothpaste on my finger and soon he began licking it off. Next, I put some on a human toothbrush and turned it into a game. He began chewing on the toothbrush and I began secretly brushing his teeth. Now, he simply lets me brush his teeth whenever he is laying down. I simply pull back his lips and brush the exterior teeth. He eventually starts licking his teeth and I am able to brush the interior of his teeth. Thanks, Petrodex, for saving me a boat load of cash!

My dog was previously terrified of the toothbrush. After reading some reviews, I decided to give Petrodex a shot. Now keep in mind that I am not reviewing the long term effectiveness of this product (I plan to update this review in a few months), but rather I am rating my dog's willingness to accept the process of brushing her teeth. She honestly gets excited to have her teeth brushed now!! I tried some other brands in the past and she would run away and thrash when I got the brush near her teeth. With this stuff, I have to try to keep her from licking the paste off the brush before I can get some scrubbing in. I am so excited that I am able to brush her teeth finally!

As noted in other reviews this product dissloves the tartar over time. I use it 2-3x/week with excellent results and my dog likes the chicken flavor - she runs over to get her teeth cleaned which is amazing. I have to say that I'm not too keen that it's made in China and I'd buy a North American product if I could find one.

Best Toothpaste for dogs and best price By Wickits (Pittsburgh, PA)
This is by far the best price for petrodex toothpaste for dogs I've found. The 6.2 ounce is much bigger than the ones sold at petsmart and petco. My dogs love the taste of this toothpaste and my vet told me that since it is "enzymatic" it fights tartar in places that I can't brush. My german pincher has horrible breath but as long as I brush his teeth daily (or even every other day) his breath is much better. Once again, by far the best price I've found @ $9.72.
