This book is thicker, contains more heroes and also helps to sum up the latest batches of the Mavel universe such as the Skrull Invation and the Civil War, for those of us who couldn't follow it directly. Comparing the original MArvel Encyclopedia side by side with this new one there were some heroes removed, new ones included, new pictures, new names to old faces, and (again) the comprehensive reviews of the latest facits of the Marvel Universe. Overall I have to say the collection in this book is well worth the price for those of us who like looking up old characters and new ones alike. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

This book is a great collection of characters. It gives a pretty good background of each character but the description do jump around to many story lines and can be confusing(especially someone not into the history of comic book storylines). Overall it was exactly what I was looking for.

Gave this to my fiancee as a Christmas gift since he is a big comic book fan. Needless to say, he loves it! It's well set out, and lists even the most minor of characters. The only problem now is that my fiancee keeps suggesting Marvel character names for our unborn baby...

This book is awesome! I bought it for my teenage son but I enjoy looking through it as well. More pictures than you can count and great descriptions of heroes and villains that are not too long. If you want a book that tells you something about practically every character to ever appear in a Marvel comic then this book is for you.
