Story Cubes Spark the Imagination By TT Divine (NW Florida)
This game was a delight, and I was prepared not to like it based upon both the single star reviews and that my eight-year old might not be able to play. I'm happy to say I was wrong on both counts. The cubes were well made, heavy weight dice (so heavy in fact, that we padded our glass table with a towel to play) and my daughter didn't want to stop playing after an hour of spinning tales using the cubes.
Simply Brilliant By Eoghann Irving (Charles Town, WV, USA)
We've had these for a little while now and they are a wonderful game to have handy. They're small, easily portable and require minimum set up so you can pull them out at a moments notice. The rules are simple. Basically there aren't any. They give you several possible variations. But it really doesn't matter. There are no winners or losers here. It's all about telling a story.
Endless storytelling fun By Mayces
I got this for my 5 yr old (now almost 6) who insists he will be a screenwriter when he grows up but we play with them as a family, taking turns. Occasionally we build upon each other's stories. I never cease to be amazed at some of the things we can come up with and how quickly!
Fun game for kiddos By Illini Fan (Glen Ellyn, IL)
My kids love to make up and tell stories. These cubes help make the stories more fun and silly for everybody. I'm not sure of the official rules, but with my kids, we usually roll the dice and then each kid gets to chose a die when it is their turn and make up a couple of lines of the story continuing from where the last one left off. There a couple of dice that have ambiguous pictures, though.
Great educational game By BC (Ca United States)
This game is a lot of fun and very educational! There are so many different pictures on the dice that it is never the same story. It helps with creativity.
A successful gift to an 11 year old By D. F. Wells (Rio Rancho, NM USA)
I purchased this as a gift for an eleven year old girl who loves to read. Feedback "Thanks for that really fun sentence game." Usually it's just "Thanks." So this is not faint praise.
FUN FOR ALL AGES! By A Kid's Review
Good things do come in small packages! And, do not need to cost alot! -Rory's Story Cubes is a game for children 4 1/2 - 5 yrs. to kids of senior yrs. My great nephews and nieces played this game, with this 51 yr. old Great Aunt, over AND over again. With no written words needed to know...all one has to do,is grab a few cubes and, use their creativity to make up a story, with one photo cube at a time.
If 3 play, for example, you go around creating a story, that one makes up with one cube at a time;then the next player takes a turn. Before long, the 3 players created a unique story, of their OWN.LET kids be silly and remember...this is YOUR story. There is NO right or wrong!!! I'm ordering more now for the holidays. Great gift for grandparents to play with grandchildren. And, no matter how tired an adult may be...this gift is perfect!
Very durable By Mark Rodgers
