I've been using a neti pot for a couple years, and this the best rinse pack mix I've found. I use it with distilled or previously boiled water. I have terrible allergies and asthma, and this really helps. I use it both morning and night, before using my asthma-controller and nasal spray for allergies.
Using my prescription medication alone does not work nearly as well as it does if I precede it with the neti pot and these packets. I also take a daily antihistamine as well. This is actually the treatment my doctor recommended before putting me on the asthma-controller and nasal spray. It helps a lot, and I suppose if you have milder allergies, it might be most all you need.

I was buying the NeilMed Sinus Rinse in WalMart at $8 for a 50-pack. This is a much better price and I don't have to leave my home. I use the sinus rinse daily to avoid using sinus medications and it works. If you have never tried it and you have issues with sinus headaches, this is a necessity. Best thing to do after cutting grass, cleaning your house, or grooming your dog. Get rid of all of those nasty things that reek havoc on your sinuses.
It only takes 2 minutes and is not uncomfortable at all. The packets are Ph balanced so the solution doesn't burn. I keep 2 quarts of filtered tap water that has been boiled in the microwave in the cupboard so there are no dangers of micro-organisms in the water. Do yourself a favor and stop taking sinus medications that make you hyper or drowsy.

With my busy schedule, I do not have time to mix up my own Rinse for my sinus wash that I do daily. Being a sinus suffer, I have to stay on top of it and this product helps make it easy. The product is packed in little tube like packets, easy to open and pour in your bottle. Have had no problem with the mixture and will continue to buy them. Even my Dr. told me to keep up the sinus washes.

When I first heard about these packets and the squeezable bottle from NeilMed, I had already tried a netti pot, but didn't like it all that much... This system is much better in my opinion because I can control the pressure based upon how hard I squeeze the bottle! As with the neti pot, though, it's important to tilt the top of your head forward (so the water doesn't flow down into your throat) and to also tilt your head to the opposite side of the nasal passage that you are squeezing the water into.
You can use these rinses any time you feel like it because they are completely safe. I've sometimes felt like I needed more than one rinse, so I do one packet in a bottle full, then do another one immediately following to ensure clean nasal passages. At times, when I have really bad sinus issues, I have even used the rinse every hour or two until my symptoms improve, which they usually do and I don't need more than 3-4 times a day!

For a person who used to get 3-4 sinus infections a year, I started using the NetiPot for close to one year now. I haven't had a sinus infection since!! Once I ran out of these Premixed packets, I started using table salt, which worked sometimes and not other times. If the salt didn't dissolve completely and I'd start my rinse, it was quite painful and made my eyes water. So, I decided to go back to using the premixed packets which dissolve quickly and never hurt/burn.

After years of sinus problems and several sinus surgeries, I finally found the NeilMed Premixed Sinus Rinse Packets, and I'll never go back to mixing my own nasal rinse solutions. In the past, I found that if I didn't get the mix perfect, I would end up with a burning sensation during or following the nasal rinse. However, with these pre-mixed packets, I no longer have that problem. I'd highly recommend these!
