Brushing with Colgate Total® Helps Protect Against Common Oral Health Problems

1. Plaque is a sticky colorless film of bacteria that constantly forms on teeth. It's the main cause of cavities and gingivitis and can harden into tartar if not removed daily. Colgate Total® contains an antibacterial ingredient and has a unique formula that attaches to teeth to help reduce plaque.

2. Gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease which, if left untreated, may develop into periodontitis. People with gingivitis may have inflamed gum tissue or red, swollen gums that bleed easily. Colgate Total® reduces the plaque germs that cause gingivitis.

3. Tartar, sometimes called calculus, is plaque that has hardened on teeth or at the gumline. Colgate Total® works to fight tartar build-up by preventing plaque from forming.

I must admit I ordered this for workplace use. It fitted my needs for a noontime brush by being a smallish tube plus I like the 2 pack with attached top convenience. I truly was not expecting much being a dedicated C---t toothpaste product using for my entire life. Surprisingly the taste, texture, cleaning and whitening capabilities were really good. In fact just as good if not better than C---t products and more reasonably priced. All things combined our family has switched to Colgate!

I drink lots of tea at work every day, and as I've gotten older, my teeth have naturally gotten more off-white. When I used this toothpaste daily for 2 weeks, I noticed a definite difference in tone. They don't get that artificial blue hue that some folks get from over bleaching or from over-doing dental treatments at home or at a dentist's office... they gradually just get whiter. The flavor is good - fresh, but not over-powering. I use this same toothpaste to brush my tongue and roof of my mouth and it's very do-able without instant swishing with water to take away the bite of over-powering mint, etc.

I love this toothpaste--it gets your teeth really clean--I use a Sonicare toothbrush too. I drink a lot of coffee during the day and this toothpaste helps to keep my teeth a little brighter--they are not white, yet!

I've always liked Colgate and this advanced whitening formula is no exception. It works as advertised. I dropped one star because I did not like the taste as much as others. It's not gross-tasting but just not as minty as I like my toothpaste.

I've used most of a tube. It tastes good. My teeth are clean afterwards. I'm not sure what else to say about this. I haven't noticed that my teeth are appreciably whiter, but they're clean, and that's the important part.

Household name for a long time are Crest and Colgate. Consumers nowadays has less brand loyalty. More of price conscientious consumers and people who wants functionality over loyalty on product brand name. That is because most products are great. Then, it's more about what you need. I think this product is great as value pack and appeals to both price dependent consumers as well as functionality. I like the taste of the product inside my mouth when using it with tooth brush as well as electric brand. I don't understand though they should advertise with pairing it with brush or electric brush like sonicare. It would help both them. I don't know why they don't.
