Carcassonne
Product Description
The Carcassonne is a clever tile-laying game. The southern French city of Carcassonne is famous for its unique roman and medieval fortifications. The players develop the area around Carcassonne and deploy their followers on the roads, in the cities, in the cloisters, and in the fields. The skill of the players to develop the area will determine who is victorious. The game is for ages 8 and up and 2 to 5 players.

A great game
Carcassonne is one of my favorite tabletop games. There are lots of fun expansions and very fun to play with groups. Since there are so many expansions you can adapt which ones you are going to play given your time to play the game. Also there is a kickstarter that allows for a grid to hold the game which would be very helpful.
Easy and Fun! By AshleyA
This game is very easy to learn and can even be played by one who isn't that strategy-minded. (Think settlers) The only downside is that farming is pretty overpowering as a strategy. If you don't farm and another player does, you will lose. For that, I give it a 4/5. Also, it does come with a lot of puzzle-like pieces that can be easily lost.
Fun game for 2 to 5 players By bkcurley
I bought this game for my wife and I to play together on "game night", and I couldn't have made a better choice. It's easy to learn and teach, and you can play a complete game in less than an hour. We're now after all the add-ons!
Great family game! By Jamie
We LOVE this game! It is quick to learn the basics, but there are many dimensions to it. It is different every time and each time we play we learn new strategies. It's fun to play with a couple people as well as a group.
enjoyed it By Joe Hartley
I enjoyed this game. I had played it once before I bought it. It does require a bit of skill and strategy to play, but not that much I am an adult and enjoy playing games with other adults.
Carcassonne By Sophgamergirl (Pa, USA)
Carcassonne is an interesting and fun game in which every game is a little different. It is good game for the whole family and is easy to learn. Another thing I like is that there is a separate sheet with the scoring on it that can be kept close by for a quick reference without having to flip through a booklet. In addition to this basic version there are also a bunch of expansions available so even if you get tired of it or want some variation to it you can get new stuff for it. There is one potential drawback for some people however, and that is that the game can take up a large area as you get closer to the end of it. All in all I really enjoy this game and think a lot of other people will to.
Great fun for kids and adults By C. Jackson (Chicago, IL, United States)
I played this game at a friend's house, along with his two young kids, and absolutely loved it (and had to buy it). My 7-year-old has a great time with this, yet it's got enough depth that just adults can play as well. Definitely one of the best board games we have in the house.
Simple, fun, go-to game By B. Daley (SoCal)
I love this game. Young and old can both play. It only takes a few minutes to show a new player how. Simply, draw a tile and play it.... nothing more to playing than that (other than others yelling, "you can't do that!").
Fantastic game for pairs or parties By Devin Kani (Austin, TX)
Carcassonne is among my favorite German-style board games. Unlike some of those other games (e.g., Puerto Rico), Carcassonne is much easier for the novice player to join and enjoy. The rules are straightforward: in clockwise order, players choose an available game piece and place it next to adjacent game pieces while the map increases in size. After placing a piece, that player can opt to settle one of their available meeples onto that, and only that, game piece. The game is scored based on players' abilities to get meeples into fields, roads, cities, and cloisters. (Players who have experience with Carcassonne will note that this is a very simplified version of the game mechanics; this is intentional and there are additional rules - point being, adults will learn the game quickly and it ought to be accessible for children, though I have only played with other adults).
Simple, yet addictive By Matt C.
I played this game years ago before there was a version in English and finally got around to purchasing the game. The concept of the game is simple, just match up the tiles, but the depth of strategy makes this game re-playable. The game is simple enough for anyone to learn, but challenging enough to master for anyone to become addicted.
Fun Game By W. Mark Farrell (Orlando, FL USA)
This is a fun game. I received it as a birthday gift, and this is one of the only strategic-like games that my wife will play with me. It is simple enough to play while watching your favorite show, or having a good conversation. In this way, it is sort of like dominos. Although, there is a bit more strategy in this game. My kids are able to play with us, so it scores well as a family friendly game. Look it up on youtube to see how the game is played to determine whether or not you would like it.
