Your Erroneous Zones: Step-by-Step Advice for Escaping the Trap of Negative Thinking and Taking Control of Your Life [Paperback]
Product Description
From the author of the multimillion-copy bestseller Pulling Your Own Strings, positive and practical advice for breaking free from the trap of negative thinking and enjoying life to the fullest.
If you're plagued by guilt or worry and find yourself unwittingly falling into the same old self-destructive patterns, then you have "erroneous zones"--whole facets of your approach to life that act as barriers to your success and happiness.
If you believe that you have no control over your feelings and reactions, you give up the many choices that are available to you. Dyer shows how you can take charge of yourself and manage how much you will let difficult times--and people--affect you.
If you spend more time worrying what others think than working on what you want and need, you will always be disappointed. Dyer shows that only you can make yourself happy and points the way to true self-reliance.
If you are still caught up in old labels for yourself and an out-of-date self-image, you cancel out your present potential. Dyer shows how you can break out of the patterns of the post to become fulfilled in the present.
If you depend upon others for your well-being, you lose yourself. Dyer shows how to take control of your own needs and learn to give and receive love without limits.

The first self-help book you must start with By Sue
This is the best self-help book ever in my opinion. It is rare to find self-help books that comprehensively describe the psychological principles behind many popular techniques such as positive thinking, positive self-image, auto-suggestion, and so on.
If you are like me, you cannot understand why we have to repeatedly tell ourselves that "I like myself" as it is suggested by books from Brian Tracy. Brian teaches many practical techniques, but he doesn't tell us where these techniques come from and why they are important. So, I think it may be not useful somehow. But Dr. Dyer does things in the different ways.
In stead of quickly jump into the techniques, he provides us clearly and easy to understand underlying psychological principles such as the definition of self-worth and why it is important when it comes to self-image and self-esteem. By doing this way, you will understand why and how the popular technique like "Auto-suggestion" works. It is not just the work of mouth and mind but the work of thinking instead---definitely, it begins in your brain.
Masterpiece By Bo Diddley
YEZ is my favorite book of all time. It is an effective and efficient psychological karate course. I have been turning people on to Wayne's books for 30 years. I have met him in person and even managed to get on TV by attending one of his PBS specials. He is a great public speaker and a wonderful comedian as well. This book addresses and improves personal feelings, thoughts, and emotions. Over the years he has evolved into an extremely popular "new age" communicator and explorer. He is deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize and is as much of a guru as one will find in the western world. Who are his peers? Tony Robbins? Deepak Chopra? Susy Orman? Certainly. But to my way of thinking, Wayne is the greatest of the great. A splendid spirit indeed!!!

Change Your Thoughts By John R. Gigliotti (Pittsburgh, PA)
I liked this book a lot because one will go from having a victim mentality to an empowering mentality. I just felt a little too harsh when applying everything in "Your Erroneous Zones" to my life. In 90 percent of the instances, yes, this book should be followed. Just make up your own mind on how to be a strong-minded person with a little bit of civility in tough life situations. Enjoy the book!
